Thats a Wrap!

The music video is finally completed and I am happy with the result of it. Megumi and I have done a lot for this assignment. By looking back on the video, there could have been more shots and angles. I saw some things that I could have improved. For example, better filming to make the video less shaky. Since this was a big project, I did expect that there would be some slight difficulties. But, I am satisfied with the result and I am happy about what Megumi and I accomplished. This big project gave me a better idea of how music videos are made and the process that goes with it. It enabled me to discover new strengths and weaknesses to be aware of in the future. This assignment was very enjoyable, especially how I got to work with someone.

Final Changes

It is the last day of editing the music video and it is finally finished. I went over the video to double check if everything was the way it should have been. This included editing audio which ended up being the music for the music video and any background noises on the beach. After looking over the whole video, I noticed that the audio had to be fixed. Having a clean, crisp audio is crucial for a music video. I believe that audio quality is better than the video quality. Also if the background noise was used, it would have been very obvious to viewers. I also decided to add even more transitions to the film. Transitions are crucial in music video because they can make the video a lot more interesting. Transitions will help move the story of the video along and conveys a mood to the viewers. The video editing application Megumi and I used was iMovie. It is a great software that is used to cut and edit videos, images, and music. It is a powerful tool for filming. Another problem Megumi and I caught for the video, was that the layering of the audio had issues. In the song, there is a rap part and it needed to be cut out. This messed up the clips of lip-syncing parts that I filmed. However, Megumi came up with a plan to figure it out and fix it. Filters were added over the video to really show the aesthetic my partner and I wanted. It makes the video more appealing to viewers. The music video is complete with all the filming, editing, etc.

It is Time to Revise

Today is the first day of editing the music video and Megumi and I have been working very hard on it so far. For editing, I made sure that the scenes had the right timing and the audio matched up with it. For example, this means editing the music in the background. There was a lot of extra filming scenes that were not used. There was about five minutes of filming. It was over four minutes more than needed which is why it was shortened. The time length that was allowed was one minute and fifteen seconds. To start, the editing was on Megumi's laptop. Her laptop is extremely helpful and useful for this video because it is very fast. That way Megumi and I did not have to worry about any technological issues during editing. The main thing I worried about was having issues during editing. The video would be incomplete which would result in an insufficient assignment. The very first thing that was done was playing the full video. I was the one who was in charge of cutting out unimportant parts. For example, there was an exceeding amount of landscape scenes that didn't benefit the video. It would have made the video longer and seem a bit boring of viewing the same thing. It would have lacked interest in the viewers. There was also a lot of scenes of Megumi that were not needed, so I cut out some. I also recommended transitions which Megumi and I decided on using to make the music video more interesting. The shots I chose to do were a point of view shot, pan, tilt, long shot, etc. There is still editing that has to be done but most of it is done.

Retakes!

During the filming process, I had to direct scenes and shots. I was the one who made sure everything was in place and looked right. I made sure the props and costumes were right to fit the scenery. The tripod had to be fixed at a certain point during filming. It fell a lot of times during filming because of the wind. But I used something to make it stay up. There was a dog that ran in the background of a scene, so Megumi and I had to retake it. The spot Megumi and I chose on the beach was a very spacious area. I was happy that there was barely any people there. If there was people there, my team mate and I would have not been comfortable. There would have been a lot more issues during filming which would have caused Megumi and I to stay longer at the beach. The beach was beautiful so it was helpful for the landscape shots. It was very peaceful and calm. The weather was also great, so there was not any rain that could have interfered with the technology. The costumes fit the theme of our video because it was clothes you would typically see at the beach. I believe that the filming process was well done. Megumi and I were successful to get the scenes and shots just like what was planned. I am very proud of what was accomplished in the time. The video's quality was great, there was no shakiness, and the clips were made just how Megumi and I wanted it to be. The filming process is now finished and all the errors were revised and fixed.

Roll Camera

To begin, the filming process was today with Megumi. I decided that I did not want to be in the video because I did not feel comfortable being on camera. Megumi was the one who was filmed mainly. The beach is where the filming took place. An issue that occurred was that the sunlight went away quickly, so I had to film faster. If I did not film faster, then the video would have had lighting issues which wouldn't be good for the viewers. There was a lot of scenes that had to be redone. There was a lot of people at the beach that my team member and I did not want in the video. This meant that Megumi and I had to move at times. There was also some dogs that got in the way as well. I made sure to guide certain scenes and angles that correlated with them. Some examples of shots I took were a tilt, an over the shoulder shot, and a close up shot. Anything we wanted out the video, we had to make sure it wasn't in it. I also brought my tripod for filming. Which was very helpful for shots throughout the entire video. The filming process took about an hour to film. It turned out to be longer than I thought. But because of all the issues on the beach it took longer. This was part of the filming process for the music video. I am proud of what Megumi and I have accomplished.

CCR

Down below is my CCR. I hope you enjoy watching it because I know I did. It was an interesting process throughout.
