Storyboard for my Music Video

First Scene - During this scene, the start of it will open to a point of view shot. It will seem like a person is opening their eyes and blinking as if they have just woken up. The person will be looking straight forward.

Second Scene- In the next scene, the ''person'' observes everything around them. It is still in a point of view shot during this time. The location is at the beach. The beach would be a great location for this video because it is calming and makes you feel relaxed. The person then looks up and down to take in the sights and views slowly. There will be some aesthetic landscape shots here.

Third Scene- This scene starts by transitioning to a tilt. The camera will be towards the bottom and then slowly moves up, focusing on the ''love interest'' that the song seems to be talking about. The ''love interest'' will be looking into the camera. Then there will be a close up shot. The music during this time should be more upbeat and happy.

Fourth Scene- The fourth scene starts with a pan movement. The camera will move left to right. When it moves to the end, a person will be lip syncing the song. This will make it seem like they are singing the artist's part. This person is the same person who begins the music video but is shown in a different perspective. In this scene, the person is talking about their love interest.

Fifth Scene- For the fifth scene in the music video, it will transition back to the ''love interest'' while the other person is singing about her. She will be happy and smiling while walking along the sand. This will be a pan movement from right to left, starting with her.

Sixth Scene- It will transition back to the person singing. However, this time when the rap starts, they will be facing in front as if they are singing to the camera/the audience. While the person is singing, they will be walking and the camera will be following them.

Seventh Scene- During this scene both people will be next to each other. The camera will be behind them and this will be a two shot. Then there will be an over the shoulder shot behind the love interest and an over the shoulder shot behind the ''singer''.

Eighth Scene- They make a heart with their fingers and the camera zooms in on it.

Ninth Scene- In this scene, the both of them are having a fun time and laughing. They are running on the sand. The camera is tracking them from the side.

Tenth Scene- This scene will show parts of nature and the environment. It will show the sky, parts of the beach, and anything related to nature. This will help  a relieving and calming sense.

Eleventh Scene- The two people sit down next to each other, and talk. They stare at the ocean and take a view of everything around them.

Final Scene- This is the last scene where it ends with the sunset. The two people have left and as the sun sets, the darker it gets. It eventually fades into a black screen.

Planning for my Music Video

The song my group and I will be doing is "Glitter" by Tyler, the Creator.

The props that will be used are a phone camera, a tripod, and a visor, or sun protectant of some sort to help the camerawoman see while filming.

The costumes are more of a summer-like, warm day at the beach type of clothing. This would be including tank tops, shorts, sandals, sneakers, long skirts, and lots of warm-tone jewelry. The color of the clothing will be lighter, pastel colors for the tops and the bottoms will be darker, muted colors, like navy blue. The jewelry will be a gold color and will be minimalistic.

The schedule for the group will be the following:

11/12/21: My group and I researched conventions of Alternative R&B. The group also spoke and brainstormed ideas for the CAMS, CLAMPS, sound (the song), and editing for the music video.

11/16/21: Further spoke about the CAMS, CLAMPS, and editing. My group and I plan to begin storyboarding during the next class, as well as have a firm basis for the CAMS, CLAMPS, and editing.

11/19/21: My group and I will be storyboarding and deciding on how exactly to film and edit the music video.

The exact dates of filming and editing will be fortified later on, due to the varying weather and schedule conflicts.

12/17/21: The CCR will be due and turned in.

The filming location will be at the beach, having a natural background as the setting. This saves the group money from buying props and time since the only thing the group will have to set up is the tripod.

The backup plan will be filming at a park or in a general, grassy area. If my group and I cannot film in an outdoor area, the group has collectively decided to film with a projector showing an outdoor background. This does give the illusion of an outdoor background, however, it is not truly realistic. My group and I would alter the music video if needed by making the filming seem like the love story in the song is electronic-based, rather than physically based.

Research Blog: Music Video Conventions

My group and I decided to do the song "Glitter" by Tyler, the Creator.

The song's genre is alternative R&B. Conventionally, the general themes of Alternative R&B are as follows: love, masculine and feminine energies, and some sort of conflict or feelings to be said. In the music videos of Alternative R&B, there are either darker lighting/settings, such as a city at night, a house party, or lighter settings, such as during a sunset or sunrise, on the beach, or surrounded by nature. The camera usage in these videos usually follows an actor or character around while music is being lip-synced. Alongside this are usually portrayals of the song's message or certain lyrics. An example of this is in musician Steve Lacy's music video for songs "Ryd/Dark Red," the message of "Ryd" is made known with a parked car with a woman sitting inside in front of a laundromat, focusing on Steve Lacy's face. However, more likely than not, both are included. The artist's face is usually made known, as well as what the song's message or lyrics mean. These music videos don't tend to have sophisticated messages or video concepts, but rather, are more straight forward and simple.

My Group for the Music Video

For this new assignment I have chosen to work with someone that I know will help create healthy and intriguing discussions. I have worked with Megumi before on an assignment and I know she has an amazing work ethic. She is an extremely hard worker who is also very reliable. I was very impressed by the way she communicated with our group in the commercial assignment. It was what made me consider working with her in the future. I know that she and I are willing to help each other succeed and reach our goal. I am a very helpful person and I know I will put in a lot of effort. I chose to work with her because I know her well enough to know how she is academically. She usually has a very positive attitude and is very respectable which are traits that helps me connect with her better and vice versa. I like to work with other people and be social because I believe I work better that way. Which is why I strongly believe that Megumi and I will complete this project successfully by communicating effectively. The person that is working with me, allows me to speak my thoughts and ideas with ease so I feel comfortable. I am also a good listener which is needed when working with others. Any issues that Megumi and I may come across, I believe they will be solved with teamwork. Along the way of this project, I might discover new weakness and strengths she may have. She also might spot my strengths and weaknesses as well. Together, our weaknesses will become strengths because of each others help. When our skills are combined, it will enable us to complete this assignment effectively. Teamwork, respect, and honesty are all traits that I believe are crucial when working with others. I know that she follows these guidelines for a productive group. The song that will be used in our music video is ''Glitter'' by Tyler the Creator (clean version). This song is upbeat and catchy to us and will allow us to come up with many ideas. There is a lot that can be done with this song. ''Glitter'' is a song that has a happy feeling to it and can put you in a good mood. In conclusion, I am excited to work with her throughout this project and I cannot wait for what is the final result.

Introduction to the Music Video

My name is Celine Ramon-Fortune, and I'm a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. I am very ambitious and eager to learn new things. Some hobbies of mine are drawing and painting. I love art because I am very passionate about it and it is a way of expressing things which cannot be expressed verbally. I am a person who is interested in artistic activities as well as making crafts/projects. I am more of a visual and social learner rather than a verbal/logical learner. I also love listening to music because it  engages my emotions. I found this class to be very interesting because its a great opportunity to learn more about the filming industry. I believe it will give me the communication and technology skills I need, whether it has to do with media or the outside world. I always thought  the filming industry was fascinating because there is so much to learn about TV and film. This class will show me the amount of time and effort that goes into the context of different medias. It will also show a bigger perspective of the world around us. Whether it is television, radio, or social media, media studies plays a huge part in our everyday lives. This class has been very engaging and intriguing so far, so I am looking forward to future projects and assignments we will be doing. I cannot wait to see my progress throughout this year with media and how much knowledge I will gain. Something to know about me is that I am very passionate about my work whether, it is a challenging class or an easy class. I care very much about how I perform in school and academics. My grades mean very much to me so I am driven to do my best and nothing less. I am a student who rarely gives up and I love challenging myself. I will assure you that I will do well in this class and overcome any challenges I may face.
